Verizon Goes Live

Verizon Wireless went live with its signal from atop Rice Hill on Monday, Nov. 29. The signal was successfully tested Wednesday for four hours. The site is wired for 4G output, which will become available when the Fairpoint fiber optic cable is connected. Below, the new Verizon communication shack sits next to the US Cellular building adjacent to the 180-foot tower. There are currently no plans for additional carriers to be located on the tower. Subscribers to AT&T, Sprint or any of the other services are advised to call their carrier and request service from Waterford.
