Mary's Firemen for a Cure Race at Shawnee Peak

On March 13, the Waterford Fire Department will once again be competing in the Mary's Firemen for a Cure race at Shawnee Peak. The annual event raises money for the Maine Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.  This race, now in its seventh year, was started by Mary Allen who was battling the disease at the time. Mary lost her battle in October, 2005 and now the race honors her memory and commitment to the Foundation's work.

Community members can show their support by leaving their change from purchases in the buckets at Melbys, Pop's Place and Mallard Mart. Donations can also be left during regular hours at the Waterford Town Office. Additionally, there will be ski team members taking donations at the annual Town Meeting March 6, PTO meetings and Sports and Rec meetings.

For more information or to arrange a donation please contact Jeff and Corinna Beebe at 583-2724 or email to jeff "at" beebe "dot" org.
